The Top 5 Instagram Reels of 2021

Welcome to our weekly series, The Social Selection! Each Sunday, I’ll highlight some of my social media posts and give you a bit more background on the display such as where to purchase the decor, interesting stories about decor items, or other tidbits. This week is all about my top 5 Instagram Reels for 2021!

    Textured Lamps With Baking Soda

Can you believe I found these lamps at my local thrift store?! From 80’s lamps to Modern 2021!

For the exact instructions, head to my IG stories where I explain it all there! 🎉

All these lamps needed were a couple of coats of flat black spray paint and Tricorn Black mixed with baking soda. I added new lampshades from Target and voilà, brand new lamps for a whopping total of $100. Way better than the Pottery Barn total I avoided….! 🙌🏻

Who’s heading to their local thrift store now?!

    Items To Complete The Look

    Kitchen Cabinetry Hack

The 4th Top Project of 2021 from @1776fauxfarmhouse and I can totally see why!

Adding additional cabinetry hardware to the front faces of these drawers made a huge difference in our kitchen. Not only does it serve as a towel bar, but it adds the additional customization that now makes this builder-grade custom-made!

    Items To Complete The Look

    Rug Hack!

These anti-slip rug corner grips are GOLD! (Link in stories!)They are on 𝖾𝗏𝖾𝗋𝗒 𝗌𝗂𝗇𝗀𝗅𝖾 one of our rugs on the main floor, and in my master bathroom too!

Hazel, our German Shepherd, was known for making the rugs slide, she’s all muscle and she doesn’t know it🤦🏼‍♀️. The ultimate test for these rug grips was the back door rug in our home. Hazel still gets so excited to hear that command to go outside that when we finally allow her to go, that rug would be in the pantry before these babies.

None of my rugs have moved once… and I’ve had these rug grips on since March. Yes, I do lift up the rugs to clean and mop the floor underneath, but once these corner grips are placed down again, those rugs don’t move.

    Items To Complete The Look

    Kitchen Aid Revamp

This project was the one that I was most worried about doing before completing it. I was worried that I might ruin my kitchen aid mixer and it would no longer work, or that the paint would chip off at some future date. I am happy to say that none of those things came true and I would happily do it again!

    Sideboard With Kitchen Stock Cabinets

Making this sideboard was the biggest confidence booster I could have ever given myself. Setting my mind to something and achieving it by MYSELF made all the difference!

If you don’t think you can do something, do it anyways and “build the sideboard” because proving to not only yourself but others that you did it is the BEST feeling in the world!
